Terms of use

The short version

This summary helps you read the terms. The full terms below are what count.

• You must be at least 13 to play. If the law where you live says so, you also need a parent's permission.
• Photograph animals, not people. If someone can be recognised in a photo, they must agree.
• No nudity or sexual content, no hate, harassment or bullying, no threats and nothing illegal. We have zero tolerance for these.
• Your name and profile picture come from your Apple or Google account. They must not be offensive or pretend to be someone else.
• Never share other people's personal information, and do not spam.
• Animals hunting and eating are part of nature and are welcome. Gory photos shown just to shock are not.
• You can report a player or a card, and block any player. A blocked player is not told.
• We review every report ourselves. We can hide a card, replace a name and picture, or ban a player from the social features for good.
• An automatic check refuses scans that show explicit nudity. You lose nothing when it happens.
• When we act against you, we tell you why, and you can reply to contest it. You can delete your account at any time.

Who can play

You must be at least 13 years old to use Terra. In some countries, young people need a parent's or guardian's permission to use an app like Terra until a certain age. If that applies to you, ask your parent or guardian to read these terms and agree before you play.

If we learn that a player is under 13, we delete their account. If you think a player is under 13, write to support@terratcg.app.

Your account

You sign in with Apple or Google. Your account is for you alone: do not share it, sell it or use someone else's. You are responsible for what happens on your account, so keep your Apple or Google account safe.

Your name and profile picture come from your Apple or Google account. Other players can see your name, your profile picture, the cards you save from your scans and how many cards you have, in profiles, search and the feed of players they follow. Your email address is never shown to them.

You can delete your account at any time in Account → Delete account. The privacy policy explains what is deleted and what the law makes us keep.

Community rules

Terra is for sharing real animals. We have zero tolerance for the following, in photos, names, profile pictures and anything else you share. Do not share or use:

• sexual content or nudity;
• hate or harassment: attacking or bullying anyone, including because of their origin, religion, gender, sexual orientation, disability or appearance;
• threats of violence, or encouraging anyone to hurt themselves or others;
• illegal content of any kind;
• photos where a person can be recognised, unless that person agreed;
• other people's personal information, such as their address, phone number or school;
• offensive names or profile pictures;
• a name or picture that pretends to be another player, a real person or Terra;
• spam, advertising or scams.

Wildlife and nature

Real animal behaviour is welcome, including a predator catching or eating its prey. Gory photos made just to shock are not: do not share photos of blood, wounds or dead animals shown only to shock.

Never put yourself, other people or animals in danger for a photo. Keep your distance, do not chase, feed or disturb wildlife, and respect nature reserves and private property.

Fair play

Photograph living animals yourself. Do not try to cheat the game, for example with photos of screens or prints, bots, or several accounts. Do not try to hack or overload Terra, or get around its protections.

Your photos

Your photos stay yours. Only use photos that you took yourself.

When you save a photo as a card, you allow Terra to keep it, turn it into a card and show it in Terra, to you and to other players. This applies worldwide and nobody pays anyone for it. It ends when you delete the card or your account, except for temporary copies such as backups and anything the law requires us to keep.

Reports and blocks

If a player or a card breaks these rules, report it from the player's profile, from the card, or by pressing and holding a card in your feed. A card you report disappears from your view straight away. You receive a receipt, then the outcome, in your Moderation inbox under Account.

You can block any player. You then stop seeing each other everywhere in Terra, and any follow between you ends. The blocked player is not told. You can unblock them in Account → Blocked players; follows do not come back on their own.

Please report honestly. Sending false reports on purpose is against these rules.

Anyone, even without a Terra account, can report illegal content or an intimate image of themselves at terratcg.app/report.

How we moderate

We review every report ourselves. No card is hidden automatically before that review, except from the person who reported it. When something breaks these rules, we can:

• hide a card from other players (it stays in your own collection);
• replace your name and profile picture with a neutral name and picture;
• exclude you for good from the social features (a Social ban): you disappear for every other player and can no longer follow anyone, but you can keep playing with your own collection. A Social ban is permanent; we only lift it to correct a mistake;
• report content to the authorities when the law requires it or when someone may be in danger.

Automatic nudity check

Every scan photo is checked automatically. If it appears to show explicit nudity, the scan is refused: no card is created, no scan attempt is used and nothing is added to your collection. The refused photo is kept for a limited time so we can check the automatic decisions. Then it is deleted. It is also always deleted with your account.

No action is taken against you automatically. We may review repeated refusals and decide on a Social ban ourselves.

Our reasons, and how to contest them

When a decision affects you, you receive in your Moderation inbox a message explaining our decision (a “statement of reasons”): what was limited, why, which rule was broken, and whether the decision was automatic.

If you think we made a mistake, reply to the statement of reasons or write to support@terratcg.app. We read your reply ourselves and undo decisions that were wrong. You can also go to court.

When we report content to the authorities, the law may require us to wait before telling the player concerned.

Leaving Terra and closing the service

You can stop playing and delete your account at any time.

Terra may change or stop features, and may end the service. If Terra closes, we will tell you in advance whenever we can.

In-app purchases go through the App Store or Google Play and follow their terms.

Responsibility

Each player is responsible for what they share. Animal identification and photo assessment use automated tools and can be wrong. We work to keep Terra available, but we cannot promise that it will always work without interruption.

Nothing in these terms takes away your rights as a consumer.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. Small corrections, such as fixing a typo, do not change what you agreed to. When we change something important, the app asks you to accept the new version before you continue. If you do not agree, you can delete your account. The date at the top shows the current version.

Applicable law and contact

French law applies to these terms. If you live in another country, you keep the rights your local law gives you that no contract can take away.
